The Northwestern University campuses are not sanctuaries from crime. Realizing
you could be a victim is the first step in self-protection. Crime is a community issue.
In partnership with University Police, students, faculty and staff members who
practice crime prevention can make this special community a safer place to learn,
live and work.
The common tenets of crime prevention are simple: remain alert and
attentive to potential dangers; don't put yourself at risk; and immediately report
suspicious incidents / circumstances to the police.
A safe and secure campus is everyone's responsibility. The Crime Prevention
and Safety topics at left suggest ways to deter criminal behavior and promote personal safety
and property security.
